Rathgreaghan is a substantial earthen ringfort with a 26.6m internal diameter, hidden beneath trees and bushes on a low ridge in good Donegal land. Its inner bank, fosse and worn outer edge still mark the circular boundary where people once lived, worked and kept what mattered close. The fairies may have taken the name, but the earth remembers the human hands that shaped it.

Internal diam. 26.6m. Marked 'Rathgreaghan' on the OS 6-inch maps the site consists of a circular area enclosed by a substantial earthen bank, a fosse and an outer low bank worn away in places. The whole site is overgrown with trees and bushes. It is situated on the edge of a low ridge in good land. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
