Monatooreen held six earthen ringforts, one unusually large, until destruction erased them from the landscape. They vanished so completely that their exact locations are no longer known. What remained is a gap in the ground and a warning about how quickly human ambition can be swallowed by forgetting.

According to Power (1923, 179) 'there were no fewer than six lioses, one of them of unusually large size, but they have all been destroyed'. Exact location of these sites unknown.
