Fairy fort in Monascallaghan: a 29.5m raised circle on a gentle southwest slope, its shallow scarp and broken earth-and-stone bank still visible through pasture. The missing entrance and absent ditch suggest age, neglect or deliberate erasure rather than a complete disappearance. A nineteenth-century dwelling leaned against the southeast scarp, tying human life to the old ring.

On a gentle SW-facing slope in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 29.5m) defined by a scarp (H 0.8-1.7m); fragmentary remains of a low bank of earth and stone (Wth c. 3m) are evident intermittently. There is no trace of a fosse and the original entrance is not recognisable. Against the scarp at SE are the ruins of a 19th-century dwelling. Compiled by: Patrick F.
