What is recorded here

No visible fort exists in Loumanagh South now, but the field fence still bends west to protect the lost circle. That gentle curve suggests the earth remembered a boundary long after stone and soil disappeared.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; kink in field fence appears to respect W side of fort on 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; no visible surface trace; farm trackway along line of levelled field fence curves to respect site.
