Kilrush holds a forgotten rath on a drumlin slope, its grassy edge still marking a circle twenty-six metres wide. People may have lived there before the land forgot their names, children may have run inside the shallow bank while adults worked the fields below. The fairies never left. They wait for someone to stop asking permission and start watching the place instead.

Located towards the bottom of the SW-facing slope of a drumlin. This is a grass-covered circular platform (diam. 26m NE-SW; 24m NW-SE) defined by a slight scarp (max. H 0.7m at SW (downslope) E-S-N, and by a scarp down to the interior (H 0.6m) N-E. There is no visible fosse or entrance but it is probably a rath.
