Fairy forts and earthen ringforts in mid Cork include a broad shallow basin, a low circular bank or a level patch of ground that once held a small dwelling, a byre or a boundary marker. In Grenagh North the earth still rises slightly where a round enclosure stood, and that much remains visible in the pasture. Whether people lived there, kept stock there or simply marked a claim is no longer certain. The ground has changed, the names have changed and the ordinary purpose has faded, leaving a circular shadow in the field.

In pasture, on gentle W-facing slope. Depicted as hachured, roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps and as hachured circular raised area on 1904 OS 6-inch map.
