Fairy forts are earthen rings built by humans, often coated later in fairy legend. In Drumsallagh the ring sits on a high drumlin hill, marked Fort on old surveys but no longer visible at ground level. It may have been a home, a boundary marker, or a place for ceremony before grass and time smoothed it away. The fairy name is a later story, not a proof, yet it reminds us that people once lived there and forgot how.
