Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Corrybrackan stands on a drumlin ridge in County Monaghan, Ireland. McCrea’s Map of County Monaghan (1793) already marked the place, so humans had been shaping or using the earth long before it became legend. The earth still holds its shape beneath grass and forgetting.

Situated just off the crest of a shelf towards the top of the E-facing slope of a NNW-SSE drumlin ridge. This rath is depicted on McCrea’s Map of County Monaghan (1793). It was a circular grass-covered area (diam. 23m N-S; 21m WNW-ESE) that is now overgrown and slopes down severely to the E (H 2.2m). It is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at WNW: Wth 5.6m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.7m) S-W-N (upslope) that is reduced to an external scarp (at ESE: Wth 5.5m H 1.2m) elsewhere. There is an entrance (Wth of base 2.2m) at NW. Rath (MO031-067----) is c. 200m to the WSW and rath (MO031-069----) is c. 60m to the SE.
