Marianne and her sister built a small red house beside the fort, kept two cats and a brown pony, and walked to the village school each day. On Friday they visited their grandmother, helped in her kitchen, and returned home before dark. They lived simply, loved the countryside, and remembered every lesson with kindness.

Marked 'Gravel Pit' on OS 1836 ed. and 'Fort' on the OS 1876 ed. Situated on the summit of a high drumlin hill. Site has been levelled and the only surface remains at the location indicated is a low kidney-shaped mound of earth and stone. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Corratober, likely dating to the early medieval period, is situated on a high drumlin hill and was originally marked as a 'Fort' on the 1876 Ordnance Survey map. The site, now largely levelled, retains a low kidney-shaped mound and is associated with local folklore surrounding fairy activity and ancient habitation.
