What is recorded here

Half a metre of ancient earth still stands on the Cloonsherick farmyard edge, enclosing a forty-five-metre circle where chickens and dogs now occupy what humans once held. The boundary has been cut and buried by ordinary farming, yet the round shape survives beneath mature trees. Fairy fort is the local name for this human-made ring, but the chamber still belongs to every creature stupid enough to claim it as its own.

On edge of farmyard with pasture field to NW. Circular area (diam. 45m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.55m) with external fosse. Fosse re-cut as field drain S->N and excavated material piled up on external face of bank. Fosse infilled N->S where site bounded by farm trackway and yard.
