Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Clooneigh (roscommon By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Clooneigh (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the summit of an east-west drumlin ridge and preserves a circular grass-covered area bounded by an earthen bank and an outer rounded fosse. A narrow eastern entrance opens onto the ridge, while two other raths stand nearby along the same landform.
On the summit of an E-W drumlin ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 38.7m N-S; 37.4m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes (Wth 3-3.6m; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.9-1.1m) which is incorporated into a field bank SW-NW. There is an outer rounded fosse (Wth of top 4.3-5.5m; Wth of base 1.5-2m; D 0.2-0.3m) NW-E-SW. The entrance (Wth 1.7m) is at E, and an old field bank (Wth 3-5m; H 0.2m) runs SE (L 11m) and then S (L 30m) from the fosse at E. Rath (RO022-128001-) is c. 200m to the WSW and rath (RO022-130----) is c. 180m to the ESE along the ridge.
