Fairy fort in Brittas, County Cork: a double-ramparted earthen ringfort about twenty-four yards across, with an inner bank two to six feet high, a broad fosse, and part of an outer bank still standing when Bowman recorded it in 1934. It sat on a north-east facing pasture slope, mapped as a circular raised place from 1842 to 1936, then levelled around 1967. What remains is a absent shape: a circle large enough to hold houses, stock or argument, now smoothed into the field.

In pasture, on NE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842 and 1906 OS 6-inch maps; as hachured circular raised area (diam. c. 28m) on 1936 OS 6-inch map, with hachured external fosse ENE->WNW, which in turn is respected by field boundary SSE->WNW. No visible surface trace of site; according to local information, levelled c. 1967. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 584) as double-ramparted fort (diam. c. 24yd) on F. Roche's land; inner rampart c. 2 to 6ft H; intervening fosse Wth c. 14ft; one-third of outer rampart (H c. 3ft) remained, on which stood a disused lime kiln to NE.
