Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed by later folklore. In Briska More, a 35m circular bank still stands on elevated pasture, its stone-edged ridge crossing the grass like a forgotten room. Cattle may have grazed inside it, children may have run its edge, and neighbours may have called it fairy-touched because no one living could explain why it was built. The measurement does not diminish the wonder; it refuses the excuse that wonder is only ignorance.
In elevated pasture on slight E facing slope, 133m S of the townland boundary with Elmpark Demesne and 190m E of the townland boundary with Briska Beg. Modern farmyard immediately to SW. Present remains consist of a circular shaped area (diam. 35m N-S, 34m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank from NNE to SSW (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.3m; base Wth 4.70m) with well preserved stone revetting, bank incorporated into a field boundary from SSW-NNE. The interior is undulating with a series of earth and stone banks traversing the centre of the site. The interior is divided by a bank (L 28m ENE-WSW; H 0.35m; base Wth 1.8m), which joins second bank at E end (L 28m); slightly curved bank in the NW (L 9m; H 0.4m; base Wth 2.3m). Internal banks running across interior of monument are clearly visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 19/11/2019.
