What is recorded here

Braystown holds a forty-metre fairy fort on a south-facing slope, its shallow ditch and southern gap visible only when crops reveal the hidden line. People may have circled that place, tended it or avoided it, while the land kept its shape through forgetting. A drone camera returned the outline in July 2018, bringing back a boundary that ordinary walking had passed without seeing.

Situated on a S-facing slope. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) defined by a single fosse feature (Wth c. 2m) with an entrance gap (Wth c. 4) at S was recorded by Justin Kenny using a drone-mounted camera in July 2018. The ring-ditch (ME018-044002-) is c. 15m to the NE and rath (ME018-043----) is c. 100m to the N. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 6 March, 2019
