No fairy ever danced inside the Ballywilliam South fort. People built the oval bank, cut the shallow fosse, and left two gaps for entry. Nettles still choke the flat middle where nobody has walked for a long time. The fairies got the name because people forgot their own hands.

In pasture, on break in S-facing hill slope. Oval area (35.7m N-S; 26m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank, with external fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 2.2m) SE->SW and WNW->NNW. Bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.4m), best preserved E->W, has been stone-faced externally. Breaks in bank at SE (Wth 1.5m) and SSW (Wth 2.4m). Level interior is covered with nettles.
