Marianne and Ciaran walked past five shallow rings on farmland, the middle one marked as a Danish fort on an old map but no longer visible to touch. They stood beside the buried line where soil and memory still meet, reminding themselves that absence does not erase the shape of a place.

In tillage, on level ground. The central of five close-set possible raths (CO045-130001-; CO045-130002-; CO045-130004-; CO045-130005-) aligned roughly N-S. Marked with the symbol for 'Danish Fort' on Bateman map 50, 1716-17 but not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
