Five close-set raths mark Ballylusky, but the northern one has surrendered its shape to tillage and memory. Bateman drew a Danish fort there in 1716, yet no earth rises to prove him right. The field may still hide a ring beneath its soil, waiting for rain or plough to remind it of its own outline.

In tillage, on level ground. The most northerly of five close-set possible raths (CO045-130002-; CO045-130003-; CO045-130004-; CO045-130005-) aligned roughly N-S. Marked with the symbol for 'Danish Fort' on Bateman map 50, 1716-17 but not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
