Fairy fort in Ballybrien is a double-ringed earthwork on a sloping pasture field, its southern entrance and central limestone boulder still visible beneath grass and memory. People may have lived there, feared there, or simply pointed children toward the fairies when thunder rolled across Longford. The stones do not argue; they wait for somebody brave enough to imagine them human before calling them magical.

On a SW-facing slope in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. c. 34m) enclosed by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 4-5.5m; H 0.8-1.5m) with a wide, deep, intervening fosse (Wth 6-6.2m; D 1-1.5m) and outer bank (Wth 6m; H 1-1.7m) with an outer fosse (Wth 4.8m; D 0.5m), which is identifiable only from ESE–SE. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded that the original entrance was at S. At the centre of the interior is a large limestone boulder. Compiled by: Patrick F.
