Ballybrien once held a forty-metre earthen ring on a pasture ridge, visible enough for surveyors to draw in 1837 but levelled before 1975. The fort disappeared beneath boots and ploughs, leaving only a faint circular memory in the soil. It is the kind of place that stops existing the moment people stop seeing it, which is why it still feels like a small wound in the landscape rather than a ruin.

On a NW-SE ridge in pasture. Depicted as an approximately circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. An report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded that, although the monument had been levelled, the outline of its perimeter could still be traced defining a circular area (diam. c. 40m).
