Fairy fort in Ballybrien is a 29-metre earthen ring on a southeast slope, partly banked and partly cut into the hillside. It stands beside a stream in pasture, with no visible entrance and little left of its outer edge. The shape suggests people lived there, defended there, or abandoned there before memory faded. What is certain is that the ground still holds the circle, and the circle has stopped answering questions.

On a SE-facing slope in pasture with a stream to the E. A raised circular area (diam. 29m) enclosed from N-NE-ENE by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 4m; H 1m) and elsewhere defined by a scarp (H 1.3-1.5m). A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a shallow external fosse and a low outer bank, which was identifiable only at NE. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballybrien is a circular early-medieval defensive or domestic site, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy lore, and they were often considered sacred or inhabited by supernatural beings in Irish folklore.
