Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Monument described in 1971 as an oval-shaped tree-planted area (dims. 30.3m N-S; 24.3m E-W) enclosed by a bank, with intervening fosse and an external bank with a gap (Wth at top 6.3m; basal Wth 2.3m) in the inner bank and a gap (Wth at top 7.6m; basal Wth 5m) in the outer bank at N which may represent the entrance. The inner bank is steep and is almost reduced to a scarp, large portions have been dug away at SE and WNW. There are the remains of a slight fosse and of an external earthen bank. A modern roadside wall which forms the townland boundary with Taghnafearagh skirts the bank from SSE-S-SW, where the fosse and outer bank are not visible. The interior has a gentle NNE-facing slope.
