Mortons and Cavan. Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Aghoutereery stands as a raised circular area nearly thirty-four metres across, enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. A modern laneway has cut through the eastern ditch, while a broad southern gap suggests the original entrance. Vegetation now chokes the interior, hiding whatever domestic life or ritual use the earth once held. The fort remains a quiet marker of human presence in Aghoutereery, its boundaries still readable despite the road and regrowth.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 34m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. From ENE-E-ESE the fosse has been infilled and replaced by a modern laneway. Wide break in bank at S may represent original entrance. Internal area densely overgrown with vegetation.
