Floods Forge in Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan, produced the 1940 Plough behind the house where it still stands. One of four local forges at that time, it hammered out a tool for fields that stretched across Cavan. The plough entered soil, battered by weather and use, while the forge fell quiet. Memory has replaced the anvil's ring, but the shape of that year remains inside the metal.
The plough was produced in Floods Forge which was located behind this house circa 1940. At one time there were four forges in Ballyjamesduff.
