Aghnagarron holds a broad oval of raised earth, thirty-three metres long, where a shallow scarp still marks the eastern edge. The rest has blended into field boundaries, yet the shape resists forgetting. People may have entered through the small western depression, carrying milk, children or argument into the centre. Fairy forts sound like fantasy, but local hands built them for ordinary life.

On a gentle E-facing slope. A raised roughly oval area (33.5m NNW-SSE; 29.5m ENE-WSW) enclosed from E-S-SSW by a scarp (H 1.2m). Elsewhere the perimeter has been modified and incorporated into a field boundary. There is no trace of a fosse. A depression (Wth 3.2m) in the scarp at E may mark the original entrance.
