Fairy fort in Aghalion, County Cavan: a 34-metre raised circle wrapped in a heavy earthen bank, partly levelled but still readable as a ring. Stone was later packed against its outer skin, while the true entrance vanished beneath soil and forgetting. People may have lived there, feared there, or simply refused to admit either; the ground keeps its shape regardless.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 34m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank. From WSW-WNW and from NNE-ESE the bank has been levelled but its outline is still identifiable. Drystone masonry has been applied to the external face of bank from ESE-S-SW. Original entrance not recognisable.
