Archaeological works, undertaken in 2004 in advance of the construction of the N8 Mitchelstown relief road, revealed a pit, located c. 1m to the N of two charcoal-rich pits (CO19-177----; CO19-178----). The pit contained two clay fills which included occasional flecks of charcoal. (Sutton 2006e; 2007d, 69-70) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
