Knockaneroe held a single-ramparted fort now reduced to a level scar on C. O'Shea's land. Bowman identified it in 1934, but the exact spot has slipped from local memory. The earth may still hide its shape beneath grass or farm traffic, waiting for someone to notice the faint line where human hands once bent soil into defence.
