In pasture, on S-facing slope with commanding view over Owenboy river valley. Subcircular area (85m N-S; 92m E-W) enclosed by partially stone-faced earthen bank (H 1.25m); fosse (D 0.85m) N->SE. Gaps in bank to SE and SW. Interior level; upscarped on W side to compensate for downslope; Man-made underground passage (CO086-02102-) in NE quadrant (O'Leary 1918, 118). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
