First identified in an unpublished archaeological LiDAR report (Davis, 2015) commissioned by Roscommon County Council as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the N5 Ballaghaderreen - Scramoge road development. It is located on a slight W-facing slope. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims 18m N-S; 15m E-W) defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth 3.8-5m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.25-0.4m) with the remains of an outer fosse best preserved at E (Wth of top 2.75m; ext. D 0.1m). An E-W leat meets the fosse at the SE angle and exits at the NW angle where it continues W to a pond c. 90m distant. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revised upload: 5 August, 2106
