Death and memory belonged to Castlelohort before the church vanished. A circular enclosure about fifty-five yards across still marks the burial ground in J. McCabe's land, while the building that gave it purpose has no visible remains. The shape itself has become the witness, holding what stone and roof could no longer speak.

This enclosure was referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 477) under the entry (no. 14076) for a burial ground (CO024-180----). It is described in the entry as follows: 'Bowman (1934, 61) recorded church and burial ground in J. McCabe's land; he described it as 'circular and consequently very ancient. The diameter is c. 55 yards. No sign of the church now remains'. Exact location not known.' The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
