What is recorded here

Not marked on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a low rise in undulating pasture. Roughly L-shaped raised area (dims: horizontal arm c.45m E-W; vertical arm 34m N-S; Wth. c.33m) enclosed on the N and E sides by the remains of a bank of earth and stone which is irregular in plan (Wth. 3.8m; H 0.6m). Elsewhere the defining element is modern field boundaries. At the outer foot of the bank on the N part of the W side is a largely infilled fosse (Wth. 2m), a second, low bank (Wth. 3.2m; H 0.2m), a second infilled fosse (Wth. 2m; D 0.1m) and a third bank (Wth. 3m; H 0.3m). Within the NE part of the internal area is a hut site (SL012-076002-) Situated a short distance E is a low mound (see SL 012-076003-). Compiled by: Patrick F.
