What is recorded here

Internal diam. c. 25m Lisgortnacaheragh/Lios Gort na Rátha: This site was shown on the OS maps as a univallate enclosure with a clochaun (KE042-016001-) located in the E sector of the interior. It has been almost completely levelled and a field fence now bisects it N-S. The outline of the enclosing bank or wall is vaguely discernible but the remains are generally no more than .2m high. There is no trace of the clochaun which was described as standing to a height of 1 foot (.3m) in 1845 (OSM). The site is located on the W slopes of Reenconnell overlooking Smerwick Harbour. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 652. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
