Ecclesiastical enclosure in Gortmorris

On a low knoll in pastureland. Poorly preserved oval enclosure (NW-SE 80m, NE-SW 65m) defined by a low earthen bank from W to NE, and elsewhere by a degraded scarp. An external fosse is present from SE to WNW. There is a possible entrance (Wth 5m) at SE and field boundaries cut the monument at N, S and W. The interior is pitted with a number of hollows, the northernmost of which contains a holy well (GA007-068002-). According to local tradition, there was a monastery here and human bones are said to have been found close to the well.
