Gateway to south-east corner of Doneraile Park, built c.1830. Comprises cut limestone piers having moulded plinths and cornices, with ball finials and having rebates to gateway opening with scroll detail. Recent double-leaf sheet metal gate. Gateway set into rubble limestone boundary walls. Avenue from gateway formerly crossed now-ruined bridge. Pier in River Awbeg is of coursed dressed limestone with V-cutwater to west, upstream, side.

This structure is one of a series of limestone gateways around the perimeter of Doneraile Park. Formerly the main entrance to the demesne from the south-east, it led to a now ruined bridge over the Awbeg River. Its detailing adds artistic interest to the structure and its setting is considerably enhanced by being contiguous to the fine entrance gateway to the grounds of the adjacent Creagh Castle.
