Cullen Graveyard

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Cullen Graveyard is a Church of Ireland burial ground where the earliest surviving headstone marks 1766, though a seventeenth-century church may have stood there before memory faded. The stones sit in north-south rows inside a broad oval earthwork still called Glebe Land Round, beside the ghost of a rectangular building and a separate tomb. It is not a display of grandeur but a long-human place: grief, pride, faith and forgetting all buried together under Cork sky.
Cullen Graveyard is a graveyard in County Cork, Ireland.
