Cross

On NW side of an old laneway, it stands in a hollow named 'Clash-an-Aifrinn Sand Pit' on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1932). It consists of a cross and base standing on a rectangular mortared limestone altar (H 0.85m, Wth 0.93m max.). The cross is of plain limestone (H 0.73m, Wth 0.43m), round in section (D 0.12m), and is mounted on a rectangular base (L 0.43m, Wth 0.33m, H 0.2m). The N face of the base bears an inscription commemorating 'P. P. O'Conor' and is dated 1680. The outline of a chalice and host are also inscribed on its upper face.
