Crannog in Killyvilly Lough is an artificial island built in ancient times, preserved beneath the water of County Fermanagh. The official record identifies it as a crannog, a place where people may have lived above the wetland when the land around was too soft for ordinary buildings. The lough keeps the shape of that choice, holding a room made by human hands long after the hands are gone.
