Corbally Burial Ground

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Situated on a low ridge, in pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. Corbally graveyard consists of a rectangular shaped area (dims. 36m N-S x 29m E-W) enclosed by a post 1700 stone wall standing on top of an earthen bank which may be the remains of an earlier enclosure. Possible site of church (WM020-059----) in centre of graveyard. The interior is raised considerably above the surrounding fields. There are no modern gravestones in the enclosure. However, there are a number of recumbent slabs & other stones which are possibly grave markers. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 04 July 2019
