It was described by the investigator as a single subrectangular chamber (L 34in [0.86m]; Wth 33in [0.84m] top, 24in [0.6m] base; D c. 20in [0.51m]; long axis NW-SE), the NE and SE sides of which were formed by single slabs, the other two sides of small boulders. A displaced capstone (T 7in [0.18m]) was broken at the time of the investigation. On the earthen floor of the cist were a crouched human adult female skeleton and a bowl food vessel. This short cist has not been precisely located. (Waddell 1970, 129; Waddell 1990, 133; Ó Ríordáin and Waddell 1993, 131) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
