Grattan (1915, 80) noted an ancient cemetery in Tombrian (i.e. Tombreen) which was known locally as Aughteduff. This very overgrown and almost impenetrable area on a S facing slope, on a slight terrace above a small stream, is still referred to as an old church site and now known as 'Augherteeduck' (pers. comm. C. Corlett).
