Church (in Ruins)

In N half of graveyard (CO051-106001-). Remains of rectangular church (int: E-W c. 22.5m; 6.55m N-S); all that now stand are ivy-clad E gable, E end of S wall (L 13.5m) and NW corner; N wall reduced to sod-covered foundations. In centre of E gable is window with double ogee-headed light, sunken spandrels, mullion missing. Wall press at E end of S wall; wide ope (wth 3.36m) immediatly to its W shows signs of recent repair work. Embedded in S wall is rotary quern stone; on ground, just inside S wall, is cut-limestone arch stone, with chamfered edge, from door surround; in graveyard head of single ogee light, with sunken spandrels. Surviving remains of late-medieval character. Formerly parish church of Grenagh; in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1867, vol. 2, 229).
