Church in Knockaturnory

Situated on a gentle N-facing slope at the NW base of Croughaun Hill. A small, rectangular scrub-covered enclosure (dims. 18m N-S; 16m E-W) which is open at the W is defined by low stone walls (Wth 0.8m). It is regarded locally as the site of a church, the precinct of which was reputedly larger, extending further N. A bullaun stone is c. 12m N of the enclosure, entangled in tree roots, and there is local knowledge of a second bullaun stone that could not be located.
