This church was referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 498) under the entry (no. 14215) for a moated site (CO032-111----). It is described in the entry as follows: 'Site recorded by Bowman (1934, 595) as church site on land of H. Foote, consisting of rectangular plot of about one acre, on SW bank of small stream; 'not a vestige of the Church is now to be seen.'
