Elaborate man-made underground passages with collapsed chamber roofs lie hidden beneath overgrowth in the south half of a ringfort at Park, County Cork. The cave itself holds an Early Christian habitation layer where Coleman recovered iron, bronze, worked bone, charcoal and animal remains in 1942. Together they suggest a small domestic world of cooking, keeping animals, hunting and craft, repeated quietly across generations rather than marked by one dramatic event.
