Cornashinnagh: A castle marked twice, never seen. The Strafford line and the 1837 survey both point to its bank, yet no wall, trench or stone has answered the pointing. That absence is the shape of the place: a name repeated until it becomes a room, while the field keeps its own secret.

A castle is marked at Cornashinnagh on the composite Strafford/1837 OS 6-inch map in NLI, and on the Strafford map of c. 1636 (Simington 1949 map b) placed on the N bank of a W-E stream and just W of a conjunction of two streams.
