Bert Demesne, County Kildare: Castle lost, 1655-6 to 1753 maps, not on OS. A castle and four houses at The Bart, near Bert House, with a church nearby on later maps. Neither monument is recorded now, and their precise location is unknown. What remains is a gap in the land, not a gap in imagination.

A Down Survey map (1655-6) shows a castle and four houses at 'The Bart', in the vicinity of ‘Bert House’, and Noble and Keenan show a castle and a church (KD034-016----) in this area on their 1753 Map of County Kildare.
