Castle Field at Bawnagarrane still hides its walls beneath ordinary soil, resisting every attempt to pin them down. Power wrote that traces remained in the field, yet the castle itself vanished from sight and certainty. The land may be guarding a chamber no map remembers, waiting for someone stubborn enough to listen before digging.

According to Power (1907d, 90) there was a field called the Castle Field, in which some traces of one remaind, at Bawnagarrane. It remains unlocated. Power, Rev. P. (1907d) Place names of the Decies.
