Belinstown in County Dublin once held a thatched castle belonging to Laurence Bealing, an Irish papist indicted of rebellion during the Civil survey. That charged identity vanished beneath a modern commercial shed, yet cropmarks still reveal forgotten enclosures and field systems across the surrounding land. The castle is gone, but its border remains written in the rhythm of the fields.

This is the site of a thatched castle held by Laurence Bealing who was described as an 'Irish papist' and 'indicted of Rebellion' in the Civil survey (1654-6) (Simington 1945, 104). There is no visible surface trace of the castle. Site currently under large commercial shed. There are extensive cropmarks of enclosures and field systems in the surrounding fields (DU011-007002-).
