Freestanding carved limestone monument, erected c.1960, comprising high cross with interlace strapwork set on square-profile plinth and base, having incised lettering.

A fine memorial monument dedicated to Godfrey Joseph Canty, a member of the 1st Battalion 3rd Brigade of the Irish Republican Army who died on May 9th 1921. Set along the roadside between Bandon and Enniskean, the richly carved high cross displays fine stone craftsmanship, and makes a notable addition to the landscape.
