What is recorded here
Five oval cairns, including this one, are spaced along a grassy platform beneath the SW ridge of Dromore Hill. They are not scattered; they are repeated like a sentence spoken slowly. A person may have placed them there to mark a route, a boundary or a remembered event. The stones still arrange the land into meaning.
On a grassy platform, beneath a ridge, on the SW side of Dromore Hill. This is one of a group of five cairns (see CO119-117----; CO119-117002-; CO119-117003-; CO119-117004-) that are situated E-W along the platform. This is an oval-shaped cairn (1.2m x 1m; H 0.35m) situated 5m to the W of one of the other cairns (CO119-117----) and c. 3.4m to the E of another (CO119-117002-).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
